Vaser liposuction, or “Vaser Lipo,” is a minimally invasive fat removal procedure. It uses the latest ultrasound technology to break down fat cells so they can easily be taken out of the body. It is safer than traditional liposuction and just as effective and long-lasting. Vaser Liposuction can remove fat from numerous problem areas, such as:
The best part about Vaser Lipo? It permanently gets rid of fat cells from stubborn pockets! If you gain weight after the procedure, it will spread evenly over your body, giving you smoother results. This makes it perfect for those looking to drop those last few pounds. Even more exciting, you can treat multiple areas of your body with Vaser Lipo. You can sculpt the perfect silhouette in one go without needing to book multiple procedures. This means faster recovery with much better results. Our Vaser lipo journey with us begins with a detailed medical assessment. We dive into your medical history and discuss your fat-related concerns and aspirations. If Vaso Lipo is suitable for you, we will lay out a personalised treatment. After all, your goals are our goals.
Vaser liposuction is quite a simple and straightforward procedure. It is performed under local anaesthesia so that you will be awake. But the treatment area will be numb. Your cosmetic surgeon may recommend general anaesthesia if the treatment area is more extensive.
After sterilising the area, your cosmetic surgeon will make a small incision. They will try to make this in an area where the skin naturally creases to hide any future scars. A cannula (thin tube) is inserted into the incision. This, in turn, is connected to a suction device. Then, the fat in the surrounding area is liquefied using a special ultrasound device. Once the fat is liquid, the surgeon will draw it out with the suction device via the cannula.
The ultrasound technology is also used to tighten the skin in the treatment area and stimulate collagen production. In this way, Vaser Lipo can precisely contour and shape several areas of your body in a single sitting. Once the procedure is complete, the surgeon stitches the incisions and applies dressings. You will be given special compression garments to wear during recovery.
Recovery from Vaser liposuction is relatively quite swift for most patients,. While healing times vary, they often start to feel normal within the first 2–3 days. During the first 24 to 48 hours, you may notice fluid weeping from the incision sites. This is normal. You may experience some pain, tenderness, and bruising in the treated areas during the initial few days. This is also normal.
Your surgeon will prescribe painkillers to manage discomfort. You will also wear a compression garment for a few weeks to reduce swelling and speed up healing. You will be able to resume everyday activities in the first week. However, we recommend avoiding more strenuous activities and exercising for at least 7–10 days. It may take a few months for the full results of the surgery to become apparent.
Losing those last few pounds or targeting specific areas is never easy. It’s even harder when you have life’s responsibilities bearing down on you. That is why many people choose Vaser lipo over traditional liposuction. At London Private Hospital, we offer the best way to spot-reduce fat from your body.
The main advantages of Vaser Lipo include:
Fat cells are permanently removed for good.
There is less visible brusing, bleeding, and scarring.
Vaser liposuction can effectively treat multiple areas in one go, including the abdomen, thighs, flanks, buttocks, arms, and even delicate areas like the neck and chin.
With Vaser Lipo, you don’t need to stay overnight at the hospital. In most cases, you can walk out the same day!
It’s minimally invasive, so there’s less trauma to your body, less recovery time, and less post-operative discomfort.
It is performed under local anaesthesia, which carries fewer risks than general anaesthesia.
The ultrasound energy in Vaser liposuction promotes collagen production, which can lead to improved skin tightening and retraction.
Vaser liposuction is minimally invasive, so its risks are lower than those of traditional liposuction.
However, there are potential concerns to be aware of before scheduling your appointment.
Infection can occur if bacteria enter through the incision site or cannula, but this is uncommon and can typically be treated with antibiotics.
Bleeding may happen during or after the procedure, usually stopping on its own, although rare cases may require medical attention.
Swelling is a normal part of the healing process and generally subsides over time. Bruising, or hyperpigmentation, can appear but tends to fade away naturally.
Temporary numbness in some areas is possible as well, resolving as the body heals.
Irregularities in skin contour, where the skin looks uneven or bumpy, may occur initially but should smooth out within a few days.
Fluid accumulation under the skin might happen, and if necessary, the surgeon will drain it with a needle.
In very rare cases:
Permnant loss of sensation is possible if a nerve is damaged or cut.
Skin necrosis can occur due to insufficient blood flow, potentially requiring wound care or surgery.
Blood clots can also form in the arms or legs after the procedure, but moving around and wearing compression garments can help prevent them.
Rest assured, we will discuss all possible risks and complications with you, ensuring you are fully informed and prepared, while prioritising your safety and well-being throughout the process.
Our patients see immediate changes after treatment. While there will be some swelling, it usually reduces as your body heals. They see the best results after two to three months.
Vaser Liposuction is not painful at London Private Hospital as we use local anaesthesia. There might be some pain after surgery. It is usually minimal and managed with pain medication. The swelling may cause some soreness. It will gradually go down over the following weeks. Your cosmetic surgeon will give you detailed aftercare information on managing any discomfort during this time.
Yes! But you will truly see the final results after a couple of months. They will last for as long as you lead a healthy lifestyle. This includes a nutritious diet and regular exercise.
This depends on the area you have treated. It also depends on your health. Our cosmetic surgeons aim to remove around 3 litres of fat per session.
No. Vaser liposuction cannot treat obesity. It is not a weight loss solution. This is because our cosmetic surgeons can only remove a limited amount of fat t per session. Too many sessions at a time can be risky. Vaser lipo is best for patients who have localised areas of stubborn fat. Fat pockets that won’t go away even with diet and exercise.
Vaser liposuction removes fat cells for good. So any weight you gain after will spread normally around your body. You should not see the same stubborn fat pockets. However, this is not guaranteed, as it depends on your lifestyle.
After your procedure, you will stay in our facility for a short period of time. Or as recommended by your surgeon. We will monitor your vitals and make sure everything goes to plan. Once our medical team determines you are ready, we will discharge you from our hospital facility. We will also give you detailed instructions on taking care of yourself.
This varies from case to case. Remember, Vaser Lipo is not a weight loss solution. It can only get rid of localised areas of stubborn fat. Having said that, every patient is different. It is best to discuss your goals with our medical team to determine if you are a suitable candidate.
That depends on the size of the treatment area. Also, the more areas, the longer it will take. However, our expert team will not spend more than 4 hours per session.
Vaser Lipo is quite a safe procedure, but you may experience one or more of the following:
Pain, which you can manage by taking painkillers
Scars from the incisions, which will fade over time
Bleeding at the incision site. Be sure to follow our aftercare instructions to prevent this.
Hyperpigmentation or bruising, which resolves on its own.
If you have any other concerns, please get in touch with our medical team.
